A joyful brand identity for Little Angel Theatre, celebrating the magic of puppetry through playful design, character and imagination.
Challenge
Little Angel Theatre is one of the UK's most beloved children's puppet theatres, inspiring generations of young audiences through storytelling, creativity and craft. The challenge was to refresh the charity's visual identity without losing the warmth, heritage and sense of wonder that has made it such a cherished cultural institution. The new brand needed to appeal equally to children, parents and educators while supporting the theatre's growing programme of performances, learning and community outreach.
Solution
I led the development of a playful visual identity inspired by the theatre itself. Drawing on the building's distinctive architecture, theatre tickets, curtains and the tactile nature of puppetry, we created a flexible brand system full of character and movement. Hand-drawn textures, vibrant colours and expressive graphic elements brought a sense of life and imagination to every touchpoint, creating a brand that feels as magical and creative as the performances themselves.
Result
The refreshed identity gave Little Angel Theatre a vibrant, contemporary brand while preserving the emotional connection audiences have built over more than 60 years. Rolled out across print, digital communications, signage and marketing, the new identity helps the theatre communicate with greater clarity while capturing the joy, creativity and craftsmanship at the heart of every performance.
